Leila Rankin BSc, MSHS, PA-C is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who joins the Foundation Health care team with a wealth of experience in Primary Care, having practiced in Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Primary Care settings over the span of her 20+ year career. She is adept at diagnosing and managing the various common and uncommon acute and chronic medical conditions in these outpatient settings.
Leila graduated from George Washington University’s Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Science in Health Science. She received an exceptional education in conventional Western medicine from GWU, which is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 PA programs in the nation. In addition to the traditional core rotations for her training, she designed an elective rotation in Integrative Medicine, gaining an appreciation for and understanding the benefits of Mind-Body Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine as well as the Integrative modalities of Chiropractic care, Acupuncture, Yoga, Reiki and Meditation.
Leila is passionate about Integrative and Holistic Medicine, the art and science of healing that addresses the whole person (body, mind and spirit) by combining evidence-based conventional and complementary therapies. She specializes in preventive medicine, patient education and women’s health and is excited to have an opportunity to further her education and implement modalities in Functional, Integrative and Holistic Medicine in her position with Foundation Health.
Working in Primary Care gives her the opportunity to form a therapeutic partnership with her patients through which she assists them in achieving their healthcare goals. She prefers to involve patients in health care decisions, utilizing shared decision making. With compassion and diligence, Leila strives to give her patients excellent, meticulous and comprehensive care.
Leila enjoys an active lifestyle and the benefits of living in Boulder county, near the beautiful Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. In her free time, Leila enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, swimming, traveling, practicing Qigong, yoga, gluten-free baking, and reading.
